Scanned 1914 Smoke Abatement Map-Goose Island-East Side

Note the C&NW roundhouse across the Chicago River from Goose Island.  Unlike the 1955 and 1971 Milwaukee Road diagrams, there are no tracks crossing Halsted on Goose Island.

The tracks ran in a tunnel under Halsted.  ;)

A while back I found a pic on the Library of Congress site (I think) of C&NW diesels at the roundhouse that is mentioned.  I searched again under just the other day and could not find it.  Should have saved it way back when.
