EJ&E isolated switching line off Elston Ave.
« on: January 22, 2004, 03:59:09 AM »
Tom Burke mentioned a switching line operated by the Elgin Joliet & Eastern Ry.(EJ&E, also known as Chicago\'s Outer Belt) on the site of an Illinois Steel Plant. This facility was located in the area bounded by North Avenue, Elston Avenue, Wabansia Street, and the Chicago River. It\'s connection to the outer rail network was both the Milwaukee Road (coming south from the C&P Bloomingdale Line) and the CNW (coming off the North Line).

Does anyone  have any further information on the line?
