Shoot!!  Wish I would have known about this.  Of course the one day I follow them they don\'t head up to Peerless.  So is that it, officially?  Or is there a chance of another run?

Can you write out what the sign said? I am having a hard time reading the dates for the various railroad service, thanks.

Also, is the property been sold already or are they first putting it up for sale?  Thanks.

Let me clarify that the train that ran on February 1, 2007, to Peerless and back was the last run to Peerless.  It does not mean that the line was or will be abandoned and it is still considered part of the national rail system unless Chicago Terminal Railroad files an official abandonment motion.  Even then, abandonments applications can take two years or more for approval from the Surface Transportation Board.

That would be correct, though the city in the past has accidently paved over operating sections of track on the C&E Line not technically abandoned in the past.  Legally, the city or others aren\'t supposed to mess with the active tracks part of the national rail network, but what goes on out of ignorance or other motives can be another matter.
