Thanks to Tom Burke for sending these along.

I'll wait for him to author some captions.  Looks like Azko was busy!

Thanks, Tom.

The photos were scanned from slides I took that deteriorated over time.  Several of the photos were taken near twilight in low light conditions.

Business was good at AKZO salt in the one photo.  Not sure why the one hopper is spotted on the north side of North Branch since I do not believe AKZO had a way to move cars around.  Soo Line would have charged a flat switching fee to move the cars for them.

The other photos are along dirt paved Cherry Street on the north side of Goose Island.  Once the Soo Line crew is done they will have a long trip back up Kingsbury on the Chicago & Evanston (C&E) line then over onto the Bloomingdale Line (Chicago & Pacific).  They might have to pause at the UP/Metra crossing then head west to the Bensenville Yard on the C&P line.

The Chicago & Pacific originated on Goose Island.  It was later absorbed by the Milwaukee Road.  Pacific Junction is named after the point where the Chicago & Pacific crossed the Chicago & Milwaukee lines of the Milwaukee Road.
