Fascinating.  It also shows the Ogden Slip before half of it was filled in.

I remember North Pier had a bunch of shops and restaurants in it back when I was in high school. I remember laser tag too.

Yeah, the half of North Pier Terminal that was not torn down was a hot destination in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s with restaurants and shops including one of Steve Dahl's "Lake Effect" retail stores featuring beach attire and related things.  Then by the mid-1990s it started going downhill once Navy Pier was renovated and provided competition.
