Very sad.  A few years ago three of us traveled to this location for photos but we were spooked off after a few minutes by a security guard in a pickup truck belonging to the adjacent mall who kept tracking us.

I remember seeing these while riding the BNSF Metra from La Grange into downtown with my family in the 90's...while making the same trip this year they were nowhere to be found and I assume something had happened to them/the railroad but didn't really bother researching it properly. This solves that mystery.
