City plans for Bloomingdale line

Was at the Bike to work day rally last Friday at Daley Plaza and Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT)was handing out postcards asking for suggestions on how to convert the Blommingdale line for future pedestrian/trail use. Phase 1 underway for conversion.See link for info:

Speak up...which one of us is this referring too "At least one person in the audience asked for a rail car or two remain in the new park."  Interestingly, there are several comments made about preserving the history of the trail in this particular article.  If you want to see a really well done trail you should visit the Hiawatha trail south of Minocqua, WI.  There are several signs explaining the history of railroad sites along the way.  Personally, I'd really like a (fenced in) caboose or engine.

That would be nice to preserve a part of the Milwaukee Road/Soo Line heritage.  Can they keep at least a short section of rail intact as a memorial?
