While admittedly not having read all the legal PDFs .. I have to wonder, why does CTM desire to maintain what\'s left of Lakewood, in a business sense?  Do they truly believe there\'s an opportunity for freight customers where none currently exist?  Don\'t get me wrong, like all of us (I would assume I\'d hate to see any track ripped up, but I don\'t get it.  Isn\'t this expensive both with regard to the legal fees and the unused-track upkeep?

Perhaps they\'re worried about legal precedents being created for other, future legal battles?

I too, do not want to see these historic lines pulled up, but agree, why are they fighting this?
I think they should just fill up every possible inch of these branches with car storage, just to tick the city off...
