Looking out the window while riding the UP North, I\'ve noticed that S&C Electric, north of the Ravenswood station, had what might have been some interesting switching operations. Has anyone ever seen any action pictures?

I wish I had since looking at old maps of the area there appeared to be a lot of interesting trackage up there and into Roger Park.

Google Earth shows remaining trackage there. Do they still receive any service? I\'ve always passed by on Ridge but never gone around back to see what it looks like back there.

UP North is just commuter traffic these days. I don\'t know when freight last moved through the area, but like TBurke said there was once a bunch of interesting freight stuff up there.
Maybe this is better said in a standalone rant, but every time I\'m sitting behind trucks backed up far as the eye can see on the Dan Ryan, I think of all these abandoned freight spurs and just get more annoyed... and you\'ll NEVER get them back after they\'re turned into bike paths. I know this, I\'m a biker!

A bike path can be re-made into a rail line easier than a segmented, demolished right-of-way.
