I had some errands in the area, so took look at the Chicago Terminal operations and track, here is what I found:
Lakewood:
Track still in place, Diversey to Clyboun.
At Diversey, there is construction on the former bakery site
Kingsbury:
Track still in place, North Ave to Division st.
At Division & Halsted, track still crosses the intersection, however, the city has started the work on repaving the intersection.
Goose Island:
There was a loaded bulkhead car at the lumber company.
A Goose Island surprise:
At Cherry and Hickory, the window company was unloading a bulkhead car right in the street. The car partially blocked Hickory Ave. The Chicago Terminal switcher was sitting just past Hickory.
Talked to the crew, they were waiting for the window comapny to unload the car so they can take it back to the yard. This was at 12:30pm.
The crew indicated that this was the first car for the window company and did not know if there will be another shipment any time soon.
At this time, the window company will not build a siding to receive cars. Pictures will be posted soon.
Finkl Steel:
The steel mover was outside on Southport Ave.
Business:
The crew indicated that General Iron is doing enough business to require 8 gondolas a day.
I had to finish my errands and could not chase the train.
