Interesting article about Ogden av on Goose Island

Hi guys,
I stumbled upon an interesting article about the extension and later removal of Ogden ave on Goose Island.  While not directly railroad related some might find it interesting.  There are also a bunch of interesting old photos and maps on that site.

Great catch.  Thanks for sharing it Dan.  I\'m printing it off to read and look at the photos in more detail.

I remember the Ogden Avenue overpass well, mainly as a big bridge that really didn\'t go anywhere useful for most traffic.  I think when the Northwest Expressway (Kennedy Expressway nowadays) cut Ogden Avenue in half in the 1950s the isolated northern end no longer was a through route and it lost its importance.  Being so close to Cabrini Green also scared off some motorists with rumors of snipers in the adjoining high towers of the housing project back in the 1970s.

There are a few photos of Ogden Avenue in the Goose Island section of the website.
