Chicago Terminal - Goose Island
« on: December 21, 2013, 11:45:29 PM »
At the RSCC meeting Friday, our guest speaker was Ed  Ellis, president of Iowa Pacific Holdings.
During the Q&A, the question was how was business on the Goose Island with Finkl Steel gone.
Surprise answer, Finkl Steel is not closed. Yes, most of their operation went to the south side, but according to Ed, Finkl has machinery that could not be moved. So, the Finkl site, is still in operation, not as busy as before, but the Chicago Terminal is still serving Finkl steel.

According to Ed, the Iowa Pacific name was chosen because the original plan was to buy the I&M rail link.

The gallery cars at Elk Grove Village are being stored for a customer. The gallery cars were at Joliet until CN  force the guy out.
