I imagine the Finkl site would be quite a brownfield for future developers. The costs to clean the site, including removing and replacing the contaminated soils, after more than a century of industrial use would be a challenge.
Adios what\'s left of the Deering Line as well as the C&E North Line connecting track once Finkl relocates.
That would reduce Chicago Terminal to just two reliable customers with the occasional load for Sipi Metals, and a short run from the UP junction and down Kingsbury then over to Goose Island. Maybe a mile of track in all?
Let\'s hope that Chicago Terminal has a \"Hail Mary\" pass play to rebuild their traffic base.
