Interesting to see the track layout at the \"insane asylum\" on the Dunning Line.

The map also shows a rail connection between the IC and the CNW via a brige over the Chicago River near where Columbus is today.  Was there really a rail bridge there?

I\'m intrigued as I work in the Prudential 2 building.  I ride my bike in often so have been down underneath the massive \"Illinois Center\" structure, sorta half looking for evidence of ancient rails.  There is none.    However, there are old paver-bricks showing on the ground, laid at a diagnoal relative to the street grid, visible here:  http://snurl.com/s9bc0  hmmm..
