It\'s probably been running up and down that North Shore stretch of trackage.  I think it\'s stored there at the old Weber Line Jct when not passing out loads further north.  I\'ve seen some beat-up difco\'s there too for ballast off and on since late Summer.

CNW/Metra/UP has been replacing ties.  There\'s a \"retired\" lt. green TT flat full of them on an Evanston spur north of downtown Evanston right now.  Replacements have been going on for a while.

Hi All,

Anyone know if Skytop Productions is still offering this MILW model?
The current website for them seems old or not updated? Have not gotten
reply from email.

General Discussion / Kingsbury Branch question
« on: July 17, 2008, 01:28:56 PM »
Hi All,

Anyone seen or know where I could obtain an MILW engineering dwg or track plan of this district, say 1950s-60s era?  Would like some modeling references (spur loactions/customer) for planning a \'Kingsbury-like\' layout.

Everything I\'ve found, so far, just shows a black line down the east bank of the canal/river, or mentions this or that customer, but no detailed spur info.  Have seen aerial views of snippets of remaining tracks as they appear today.

Thanks,

Charlie

General Discussion / Goose Is. Storage Yard question
« on: May 05, 2008, 01:40:45 PM »
Hi All,

Was there a \"name\" or designation for the old MILW storage yard on Goose Island?  How about the MILW freight house name or number there as well?

Can\'t seem to find any references in the files here on the CNSS website.

TIA,

Modeling / Bridge Modeling Ref Info

I cannot edit my original post above, even though
I AM the original poster.
Here is what I get:

******************************************
Note: Only the poster of this message, and
the Moderator can edit the message.

Microsoft VBScript runtime error \'800a000d\'
Type mismatch: \'rs\'
/chicagoswitching/forum/post.asp, line 642

******************************************

Anyway, the above links seem to be only temporary links at the Lib of Congress website when I did the searching.  The links above are now dead.

So, here\'s the correct path:

Go here: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/habs_haer/

Then fill in the SEARCH box with \"chicago railroad bridge\" and these
two bridge Z2 and Z6 links will pop up among others on the third page of \"hits.\"

Sorry for the confusion.
