Every day this week, we will be posting an article with rare photos that were taken by the Milwaukee Road in a 1980 Chicago lines abandonment study. These photos were discovered in 2004 while clearing out the Galewood Yard offices. The MRHA has given us permission to post.
Here is our schedule:
Tuesday: Dunning Line
Wednesday: Deering Line
Thursday: C&E North (Lakewood)
Friday: C&E South (Kingsbury)
Saturday: Goose Island
Thanks to Tom Burke for scanning them, in addition to writing great captions.

The shot of the C&E crossing @ Lincoln Ave. is fantastic. It looks pretty much exactly as I picture it every time I pedal thru there on my bike though I\'d also love to see it decades earlier too. Wow has the city changed.. Thanks for posting.

C&E south photos are up! Check out the Milwaukee Road coach on Kingsbury. Anyone know anything about that?
