I visited the CTR on Friday, July 16. Engine and a CP engine 547 (if I recall correctly) were in North Avenue yard. Empty flat car parked to the north. Didn\'t see any cars east of the river (didn\'t check Sipi). I started but never finished an almost complete walking tour of the CTR in Chicago. I finished taking photos for the Lakewood Branch recently, but don\'t have the time to go through them all, post, geotag, etc. There are a lot of photos posted at: http://www.pbase.com/gordg3/chicago_terminal_railroad
If anyone would like any of the shots, let me know I will E-mail them to you. My plan is to shortly consolidate this gallery into a few of the more interesting shots.

While I was heading downtown yesterday (Jan. 5) on the Metra Milwaukee District West Line 2232 I observed CP 4440 traveling west on the Bloomingdale Line (just west of Hamlin). No cars in tow.

Thanks Tom for the reply. I recall seeing track remnants to the Elgin Mental Hospital in the 1980\'s crossing IL Route 31 and over by the Armin property. Those remnants are now gone. I\'ll have to look for the remnants you describe above.

Sorry to see it go. I was lucky to get out there when CTRR parked the two gondola cars there. Too bad they weren\'t able to save it.

Any comments would be helpful as I am not really sure of some of the boundaries (Kingsbury vs. Deering, etc.). Also one image I am not sure on about exact location is a cutoff spur: http://www.pbase.com/gordg3/image/118882554 (off Kingsbury near Magnolia). Any advice would be helpful.
